BTECs
The Performing Arts department at ATA offers students in the 6th Form the opportunity to study Level 3 BTEC National Diploma qualifications (both double and triple awards) for Performing Arts (Acting) and Music. Students are able to study a BTEC qualification alongside A Levels, allowing students to pursue a range of subjects/interests and develop a broad and balanced range of skills during their time in Ashcroft Sixth Form.
The courses are exciting, hands-on, engaging and prepare students for further study in all areas of Music and Performing Arts. Whilst the BTEC courses are practically driven and skills based, the units covered are academic, challenging and stimulating. Students work creatively in groups as well as independently on a range of assignments throughout the two years.

The Performing Arts department offers outstanding facilities including a number of drama rehearsal and performance spaces, a recording studio and live room, iMac composition suites, a variety of high quality instruments and a number of practice rooms. There is a rich and varied extra-curricular provision for 6th Form students, this includes Senior Choir, Senior Orchestra, Music Technology Club and a range of Drama activities. Students will have the opportunity to go on a range of trips and visits which will enrich their study on the BTEC courses; we also have links with a number of local production companies and visiting drama groups.
